MLB playoff schedule 2012: Dates set for ALDS between Tigers, Athletics

The schedule for the 2012 American League Division Series between the Detroit Tigers in the Oakland Athletics has been released, and Game 1 will take place on Saturday in Detroit at 6 p.m. ET. The dates, but not the times, have been set for all other possible games in the series. The Oakland Athletics clinched the AL West on Wednesday afternoon with a 12-5 win over the Texas Rangers, and now the Tigers will be tasked with slowing down the Athletics.

Here is a look at the schedule for the ALDS. All games will be televised on TBS.

AL Division Series - Oakland Athletics vs.Detroit Tigers

Game 1 - Saturday, Oct. 6 at Detroit (6 p.m. ET)
Game 2 - Sunday, Oct. 7 at Detroit
Game 3 - Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Oakland
Game 4 (if necessary) - Wednesday, Oct. 10 at Oakland
Game 5 (if necessary) - Thursday, Oct. 11 at Oakland

The winner of series will take on the winner of the series between the New York Yankees and either the Baltimore Orioles or Texas Rangers. The AL Championship Series is set to begin Oct. 13, and all games will also be televised on TBS.
