The Detroit Tigers might have the worst record among the five teams that qualified for the playoffs in the American League, but one online oddsmaker says they have better odds to win the World Series than all but one AL team.

The only American League team given better odds to win the World Series: New York Yankees.

Detroit will begin their playoff push on Saturday, Oct. 6 against the surprise America League West winners, the Oakland Athletics. The A's bested the Texas Rangers in a season-ending winner-take-all series to capture the AL West crown. The first two games of the Tigers-A's ALDS series will be played in Detroit.

Here are the odds to win the 2012 World Series for all playoff-bound teams:

Cincinnati Reds - 5/1
New York Yankees - 5/1
Washington Nationals - 5/1
Detroit Tigers - 6/1
Texas Rangers - 7/1
Oakland Athletics - 15/2
San Francisco Giants - 15/2
Atlanta Braves - 12/1
