World Series 2013 odds: Tigers still among favorites to win title

The Detroit Tigers are one of the top favorites to win the 2013 World Series.

The Detroit Tigers have 17/2 odds to win the 2013 World Series. That makes the Tigers the favorites along with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals, who are both at 17/2 as well. The reigning champion San Francisco Giants are at 14/1.

The Tigers finished the 2012 season 88-74 and won the AL Central Division. They defeated the Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees in the postseason to reach the World Series, where they were swept by the Giants. Detroit will return most of the important pieces from their 2012 roster for the 2013 season and added outfield Torii Hunter in November.

The Toronto Blue Jays come in as the No. 4 favorite, with 10/1 odds. The Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Angels, New York Yankees, and Texas Rangers are all listed at 12/1.

The rest of the AL Central does not have good odds to win the World Series. The Chicago White Sox are at 35/1, the Kansas City Royals at 40/1, the Cleveland Indians at 66/1, and the Minnesota Twins at 75/1.
